Camp Policy
RESERVATION POLICY:
Inquires by phone or by letter may be made to the camp office up to one year in advance of the requested date. Correspondence should include the requested dates and the name of the contact person. The camp office will respond with an application once the date has been approved, generally within two days from your request/inquiry. The reservation will be held for three weeks following the issuing of the application at which time the completed form and deposits must be received. See attached deposit schedule.
In addition, there is a cleaning fee deposit of $50 to $250 this depends on which buildings you reserve. Reserving the whole camp requires a cleaning deposit of $250. All or a portion of the Cleaning Deposit will be forfeited if the camp is left in a dirty condition. Your cleaning deposits will be mailed back to you providing that the camp is left as clean if not better condition as you found it.
Proof of liability insurance must be supplied with your Application.
You will receive a confirmation letter when the application and the required deposits are received. You are not considered "booked" until this is done.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
1) Groups canceling their reservation four months notice or more: Will receive a full refund.
2) Groups canceling their reservation with less than four months notice, but more than 2 months notice: Will forfeit their deposit. We will refund the Cleaning Deposit.
3) Groups canceling less than two month notice will forfeit both deposit fee and Cleaning Fee.
4) If a camp is cancelled due to closed roads or unforeseen camp closure, a full refund for both Deposit Fee and Cleaning Fee will be made.
BILLING INFORMATION:
Groups will be presented a bill at the end of camp, which is then due and payable. Camps not meeting minimum campers will be billed at Youth Rate to bring billing up to minimums. All Deposits and Camp Use Fees should be made out to: First United Methodist Church of Pasadena.

Camp Sky Meadows is located within the San Bernardino National Forest and in an undeveloped area. In this forest there are many wild animals, poisonous snakes and areas with precarious footing. Campers use Camp Sky Meadows and the surrounding National Forest at their own risk and are responsible for their individual safety.
Standard Operating Procedures
It is recommended that these procedures be reviewed with your group before coming to camp and then again at the first meal at Camp Sky Meadows.
National Forest Laws:
San Bernardino National Forest laws are in effect on all roads and trails within the camp and the surrounding forest. Some of these laws are:
NO SMOKING except in posted areas.
NO HUNTING: Firearms and fire works are prohibited.
NO CUTTING of or defacing trees or plants.
NO THROWING of trash on the ground or streams (Use trashcans!).
Stay on trails, careless hiking can cause erosion.
PERMITS are required to enter the San Gorgonio Wilderness Area. (Contact Mill Creek Ranger Station or Barton Flats Visitor Center)
Fire is dangerous!
There will be no fires built in camp without permission of the camp manager.
Report any fires or smoke immediately to the camp manager and/or the Forestry Department.
Do not disturb or play with any fire equipment (tools, hoses, or valves).
Check with Camp Manager about the use of any electrical devices you bring to camp, including radios.
Under no circumstances is anyone to tinker with stoves, heaters, thermostats, water heaters, fuel lines or tanks.
Open fires lire allowed only at designated cookout spots and fire circles. Fire tools and water must be available at each fire location before fires are lit. Camp manager will inspect.
Do not place anything within 2 feet of heaters!
Fire Alarm:
For your safety, a fire alarm switch has been installed on the outside wall of Whispering Pines. This is to be used only in case of FIRE or approved FIRE DRILL. Upon hearing the Fire Alarm, all persons shall proceed immediately to the open area in front of the flag pole for instructions.
SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED INSIDE any building. No smoking in brush areas away from the buildings.
SMOKING IS PERMITTED OUTSIDE only in designated areas: Cleared areas around buildings and pool.
Alcoholic beverages are STRICTLY PROHIBITED on the campsite.
Beds and mattresses are not to be removed from room to room or outside without Camp Manager approval.
All water is costly at camp. Have a good shower, but do not waste water!
The heaters are designed to heat the insides of cabins and lodges.
Keep all doors and windows shut when heat is on. Turn off heaters when not needed.
Electricity is expensive. Please avoid excessive use of lights. Lights should be turned out at a reasonable hour.
Please do not bring pets to Camp.
Please do not litter the grounds with trash or paper or other material.
The Camp Shop, Manager's house and yard, and the Camp Staff house are "off limits" to all campers.
The maximum speed limit within Camp is 5 miles per hour. Vehicles should not be used unless necessary. Cars should be parked in designated parking areas only.
Sleeping in trailers, campers, and recreational vehicles shall be prohibited except with advance permission of the Camp Manager.
Dishes and silverware will be washed before placing in the dishwasher.
Pots and pans are to be washed and stored by the campers after each use.
Firewood is in short supply. Please conserve wood. Burn only what is necessary.
Kitchen Facilities:
Groups can use the kitchen facilities and do their own cooking.
During the summer months group’s renting the camp agree to provide meals for the summer help while the group is in camp.
Summer help will provide “daily” the stocking of the bathrooms, taking the kitchen & dinning hall trash to the dumpster, and mopping the kitchen every night.
Camp Sky Meadows can provide meals if needed (see camp manager for details and rates).
Summer Camps are considered exclusive use of all facilities.
Pool Use:
Pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day; Groups are required to provide their own certified lifeguard. Regulations regarding pool use will be worked out with the lifeguard in consultation with the camp manager.
